No Trespassing
"Surprisingly, as an experienced outdoorsman, I had never met wild turkeys on my way, before coming to the USA,” says artist Carl Brenders. “In Belgium, a turkey is a bird that is served at the dinner table. So, I was amazed and excited when I saw a big family of wild turkeys in the field. I was very impressed by their mysterious behavior. These birds have character, and they fit well in any kind of landscape. I made a switch in my mind: this bird doesn’t look like a chicken but like a wonderful wild creature. Because they are wild, they don’t mind fences or private property ‘no trespassing’ signs. They just go!”
