Where the Buoys Are
So who does make buoys? Their craftmanship is obvious. So here is the imaginary Ezra Farrington Snipe, New England's finest buoymaker. Years ago, Ezra took up residence in this landlocked ship and he's been anchored there ever since. He has arranged his shell collection carefully on a piece of driftwood and made friends with his neighbors, the local birds.
Because he takes great pride in his work, there are always dozens of commercial fishermen in need of his service. But Ezra's never too busy to take time out for a short snooze in the afternoon sun. After all, his days do begin at sunrise. - Charles Wysocki
