Spectacular sights are part of daily life in Alaska. Around every bend of this remote river were ten more watercolors. The only difficulty in finding a place to paint was choosing between gorgeous and stunning.

I am familiar with painting wilderness areas that are heavily forested and more confined. Here, everything is wide open and wild for miles and endless miles.

And you don't have to suddenly come upon a moose - he's living there, about a mile away!
