Raiding for horses was something of a game, although frequently a deadly one. It was a favored way for warriors to show their bravery as well as add to their wealth. A raid by one tribe called for retaliation against the other. This was followed by another foray and then another, generating blood debts and animosities that continued for generation after generation.
