Cloak of Winter – Elk
Winter envelops the landscape with a cloak of heavy, wet snow. It transforms a mundane setting into a spectacular, snow-white sculpture. The snow also absorbs sound, adding to the serenity of this winter landscape.
While the snow provides beauty for the landscape, it also causes hardship for the elk. It buries their most nutritious food sources and forces them to browse on whatever is available. Most elk will migrate to winter ranges with less snow cover and greater food sources. - Daniel Smith
