I have a very strong feeling for wolves - they move me. There is an air of mystery about wolves that drives me to understand them better; I will always paint them.
Wolves are very difficult to see in the wild as they are so clever and have a very keen sense of smell - the wolf is one animal who will always see you first. Wolves are very important predators, but they are not "killers." Of course, they prey on other animals to stay alive, but they are only working to survive. Wolves have a very great sense of community, and they take particularly good care of their young.
In this painting, I tried to express the feeling of the wild which, to me, is best represented by the wolf. Here the three wolves are on the move, perhaps trying to pick up a scent, perhaps looking for breakfast. The wolf in the middle is on alert... perhaps he hears a distant call.
