To me, "Grandmother's Gift" is a feast for the eyes from the highlighted lace to the soft, flowing peony blossom and the smooth reflections in the silver bowl. The delicate lace, with the play of the light shining on its design, was a real challenge to paint. What makes this painting particularly special to me, however, is its reference to grandmothers, whose hands were never still and who passed on such beautiful treasures to new generations. - Arleta Pech
