I was enthralled with these miniature calla lilies from the first moment that I saw them. They looked like a floral version of diamonds. Then as I was drawing and then painting them in the sunshine they started to look like white flames of light. If you look closely you will see that they have some red-violet edges. I love painting edges like this and that they become something for the viewer to discover as they look more closely at the painting. - Jane Jones
