Inside Passage – Bald Eagle
"One of the best examples of unspoiled nature in North America is the Inside Passage, a stretch of sheltered water on Canada’s west coast protected from the Pacific Ocean by Vancouver Island. This coast has almost no roads and, although the passage is filled with islands, the population is minimal. The meeting of the Coastal Range and the sea results in a beautiful ecosystem. Several species of salmon and other fish provide food for top predators like killer whales and bald eagles. The landscape has changed very little since it was first visited by explorer Captain George Vancouver in the 1790s. The majestic bald eagle is dwarfed by the awesome landscape which forms a panorama in every direction." - Robert Bateman
