Kickin’ Up Dust
I enjoy painting pronghorn antelope because they are such unique animals. They’re not really antelope but are more related to a type of chamois found in the European Alps. They have exceedingly good eyesight and are the fastest land animals found in North America. I wanted to portray this antelope’s swiftness by angling him toward the viewer, almost off the page - before long, he’ll be gone in a cloud of dust! - Jan Martin McGuire
