Monet’s Pond – Early Morning
This is simply a painting of poppies. I have always been fascinated by poppies; when the wind blows, they fall back, but they pop right up again. More significant to me is that these were poppies by the pond in Monet's gardens at Givery. I would go there early in the morning, while no one else was there. Morning is a beautiful time of day, especially in these gardens. If in my painting I was able to capture any small part of the beauty and serenity of these gardens, I'd be grateful. - Peter Ellenshaw
