"Any time Native Americans sat down to eat just about anything, they considered it a feast. I wanted to get the feeling of a busy camp scene and yet keep it organized.
"This is the largest image I have ever painted (at the time). There are about 23 figures in it. They’re eating boiled buffalo meat, pemmican and whatever berries were available on the plains that season. I put in whatever I could think of to make it look like a celebration." - Howard Terpning
