Old English Sheep Dog Pups
Even as pups, this pair of Old English Sheepdogs show the exuberant, fun-loving disposition that makes them so popular a breed. They are often referred to as "Peter Pan" dogs because of their clownlike ways and a personality that never grows up.
All Old English Sheepdog puppies are born with pink noses that gradually turn black and these puppies are in the middle of that. They are also born with a black and white coat which turns blue and white with age.
This painting contains contrasts in textures, with the smooth wood and fuzzy coats and in values of light and dark, drawing attention to the playful pair.
