Red Bull II
"Red Bull II" is a contemporary painting in disguise. It is a series of geometric shapes: a square that contains a triangle that contains a triangle. The bull painted on the tepee itself is a contemporary graphic. “Such a symbol would not have existed,” says Gilleon. “Their painting was more of a petroglyph style, symbols that got across the basic facts. They didn’t have the tools to paint as we do. I like to believe that if they did have those tools, you’d have seen something like this.”
