Signs of Spring
Widespread and common, the robin is a frequent visitor to suburban backyards.
Robins are often seen on the ground looking for earthworms. Grubby habits aside, these members of the thrush family sing a cheerful song and are often the first to sing in the early hours of dawn.
After a long, cold winter, we humans tend to eagerly search for renewal. If you should see a robin in your yard - and crocuses coming up - you know the signs of spring.
