From the 1997 book The Great Kettles: A Tale of Time detail, page 23.
The universe depends on the moon, which, contrary to popular notions, is a steam-powered flying apparatus driven faithfully across the sky each night by a man. Hence, the Man in the Moon. When Joey began his travels through time, the P.A.S.T. Clock stopped and so did time everywhere (everywhere, that is, except The Great Kettles). As time stood still, the moon ceased its nightly passage. And to make matters even worse, the cow that jumped over the moon became disoriented! - Dean Morrissey
