Waiting for the Tide – Sculpture
We will all, at one time or another, find ourselves Waiting for the Tide. When every preparation has been made and every detail attended to, we can stand on the shore and demand that the tide rise, NOW! - all we want. Or, we can recognize that the ocean will come of its own accord - as it always does - and sit back, relax and smell the seaweed.
“This little admiral is enjoying his quiet time” explains James Christensen. “He could push the rowboat out to the water, but he’s in no hurry. He’s not lazy; just patient and he knows that eventually the tide will rise. It's a nice day. He's got a "cupp a tea" with a little shot of fortitude and he's enjoying the time. He's not going to let the fact that the tide's not in ruin his day. He went out to go boating, so he's boating. He doesn't need water to enjoy a day at the beach. It's the idea of "making the best of the circumstances."
