Yosemite Alpenglow
"Like embers of a campfire, light lingers on the peaks of Yosemite," Andrea Lyman recalls. "In the early 1980s, soon after Stephen painted 'Yosemite Alpenglow,' he briefly reproduced it as a full-color poster and sent it to park ranger personnel to check for accuracy. At first, some rangers thought it was a photograph because of its incredible level of clarity and detail. Then they noticed the valley was free of roads and buildings - as pristine and awe-inspiring as it must have been at its creation."
